Grouping of two vintage textile mill spindles or spools ('Beehive') - measuring twelve (12) inches tall with a round base about 2.25" in diameter and the top is 1.5" in diameter - perfect for Christmas decorating or to surprise a friend as a gift especially one who loves Prim or Country style!  How charming! These will come to you wrapped in a pretty Christmas bow with some red berries similar to the picture. 

 

I have 3 groupings of this size & approximate color available (only 6 total spindles total). I have not tried to clean or polish these and they will come to you in the state in which I received them - which only adds to their charm. Many folks like them in this state and others prefer to clean and polish theirs. This way, the choice is up to you!

These were used in the textile mills of the Southeast & Northeast until sometime in the late 1940's or early 1950's and are now wonderful collector's items. They have so many fun uses such as in a basket of colorful wool yarn balls and these larger ones can be turned into a candle stick (with the bottom of the candel shaved down a bit) or simply gathered with a pretty ribbon or a strip of gingham tied around them.
