This wonderful plate, "Whitewashing the Fence" is the first issue in the Tom Sawyer series by artist William Chambers. Inspired by Mark Twain's classic novel "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer", the plate was sponsored by the Mark Twain Museum in Hannibal, Missouri. The plate was crafted under the hallmark of the renowned Edwin M. Knowles China Company in a limited edition that lasted 150 days. The plate was made in 1987 and measures 8-1/2".

This plate is in mint condition and includes the original COA (Certificate of Authenticity) and a descriptive pamphlet with a write-up about the artist and this gorgeous plate. Included as well, will be the original issue shipping box in which the plate and literature have been stored
